Today I am going to enjoy a little crochet in my happy place, and I would argue, perhaps one of the most beautiful places on earth. This is a view of Lake Coeur d’ Alene, Idaho. Typically it is not this hazy here, however, Washington, Idaho’s neighbor to the west has been experiencing a surge in forest fires this summer.
I am still working on recovering from what I have now affectionately termed “Sweater-gate,” and am progressing fairly swiftly. I can’t wait to share my progress tomorrow!
So where did your adventures take you and your fiber fun this weekend?
Happy Hooking and (k)Nifty Knitting!
I am happy to report I finished my first year of grad school on Friday with amazing grades. I spent my first weekend of freedom from homework with Color Me Rad, liberal helpings for friendship and hours of crochet. That is the amazing part about crochet, it does not matter how long you have been gone, the fiber welcomes you back. Right now I am finishing a mint shrug/sweater that I started last fall before the heavy cloud of school set in. The best part is this shrug is made up of single crochet stitches. This pattern is free from lion brand yarns. I am using Red Heart With Love in Iced Aqua.

I will post a picture as I begin to finish this off.

Happy Hooking and (K)Nifty Knitting,
I’m trying to get back into the habit of posting again on days where I would normally post before so in order to get started with that I present another Work In Progress Wednesday. Again I’m getting ready for another craft show that will be this Saturday and I decided to try and whip out a couple infinity scarves and some hats. So for this work in progress Wednesday I’m posting a picture of an infinity scarf I’m working on. This scarf is done with Loops and Threads yarn in the carnival color. I am using a size ‘n’ hook and I am working in the back loop only. I hope everyone else is having a great week, and I will post tomorrow for Throwback Thursday.
I am sorry I have been so distracted lately with school, work and an upcoming holiday show, it has been hard to find time to write. But I thought I would post some photos of things I am working on.
After the craft show next week I will start writing down some of these patterns so I can share them with you!
I hope you all are having a wonderful Wednesday!
Good Afternoon Friends! Not much to say but I am working on finishing up some great hats and a headband! What is everyone else working on?
I have been working on this little cutie today… When I am finished I will post a picture and some more details about the yarn and pattern. What is everyone else working on out there? I hope everyone has a wonderful Wednesday!
Well another W.I.P. Wednesday has arrived… and another admission that I have not worked on any of my W.I.P.s… I have poured a good portion of my free time into homework and writing my first grant (YAY!). However I have managed to crank out a pretty cute little pumpkin patch and several Christmas Stockings. You can find the links below, and they are free!! I may have an opportunity to go to a craft fair or two, which I am REALLY excited about it, so I am trying to build up an inventory so I will be prepared. I am thinking of making a few headbands and scarves, using alpaca or wool so they will be nice and warm. I will keep you all up to date on the situation as it goes along! I also ordered some business cards so I can start doing some custom work, and get my name into the community. When I started to crochet again a couple months ago, I had no idea where this would lead… I suppose I still don’t, however I am enjoying where things are headed right now!

I hope everyone is having a wonderful Wednesday!
So for the past several weeks I have been hookin’ together pumpkins in all shapes and styles, and yesterday was no different. This little guy is a free pattern from Ravelry, you can click on the photo for a link. This one is done in Vanna’s Choice in Terracotta and Vanna’s Choice in Olive.
As for my WIP It Good page, an update for that will have to wait till next week, as I am having far too much fun working on my pumpkin patch to pull myself away to work on those items… 🙂 I promise I will do better next week!
The only adjustment I made was on the stem. I did several rounds of single crochets (6 per round as the pattern states). On the last round I did 2 single crochets in each single crochet from the previous round making 12 sc. I found that this not only gave the stem a tapered look, but also made it easier to stitch it onto the pumpkin. I also added the little curl. To create the curl I made a chain of 11. In the second chain from the hook I made 3 hdc, I continued that down the length of the chain.

I hope everyone is having a great day!
