These are Mommy and Me Hats that I made for a friend and her daughter. I had been planing on making them for a while and National Make a Hat Day was just the inspiration I needed. They are made from Lion Brand Vanna’s Choice Yarn in Cranberry. They are super soft and warm. The are made from a FREE (I love that word) pattern, which I will attach at the end of this post. The larger hat I followed the pattern completely. It looks a little lumpy but on the head it smooths out well. The little hat I followed the pattern until the brim, at round 14 I single crocheted all the way around. At round 15 I half doubled all the way around. From there I added the ear flaps (they were single crochet). I finished it with a round of single crochet around the edge. I added braided ties to the ends of the ear flaps. I made each in an evening. My friend was so happy to get them, its always fun to see how happy someone is with something you have made for them.
