For the last week I have continued to work on the V-neck sweater from last Transformation Tuesday (link here). On Sunday I had finished the sleeves and neck and was about two thirds done. I flopped that sweater over my head to see how it was going to fit, and wah wah wah… *Shame Spiral*
One look in the mirror confirmed that it was painfully mis-sized. It was so small it looked like it was made for a 13 year old. This was made even more disappointing because I made a gauged swatch before I started (that sounded more inappropriate than I had intended).
I spent the next hour trying to figure out how to fix it so I didn’t have to throw away a weeks worth of work. The only thing i could come up with in order to make it work I was going to have to add a panel on each side.
So I slept on it, and the next thing I knew I was frogging out 700 yards of beautiful, dark green yarn. I have never appreciated my yarn winder so much. My yarn winder is a Stanwood, you can find it on Amazon for around $40 for a 4 oz baller.
Anyhow I balled up all the yarn and jumped back in again, and this time I will be measuring as I go!
I hope all your projects are turning out as planned!
Happy Hooking and (k)Nifty Knitting,
