Success

Hat-a-Palousa was a success, and while I will never try for 4 hats in 5 days on purpose again it was totally worth it :). (See Hat-a-Palousa Day 5). I also had time today to make a headband to match my infinity (and beyond) scarf, and work on my Tunisian Crochet shoulder bag, see the W.I.P. it good tab above for pictures.

Hat-a-Palousa Day 5

20130927-102953.jpg

So I believe I have done it… I have made 3 hats and a headband in less than a week! The party is on Sunday and I am ready! I have a link to the free pattern for the headband which I will post after work tonight along with a link to the pattern for the flower. The little hats and the large beanie are from a couple pattern books I own:

I hope everyone else’s projects are going well!

Hat-a-Palousa Day 3

20130925-083005.jpg

Day 3 of Hat-a-Palousa was a successful one. I completed the second small hat and I am half done with a big flower for the yellow hat with ear flaps. I just need to weave in the ends on the all the finished pieces, and sew on a button here and a flower there. There was one casualty however, I made a grey flower with yellow petals, and on the yellow hat it just disappeared. I have one large beanie left to make, and then the hard part of weaving in and sewing (always my least favorite part).  I would pay to have someone weave in my ends…  That would be a good business idea for anyone who likes to finish projects…  A Crochet Finisher (blech)…  Let me know 🙂

I have also learned an important lesson about posting photos. I need to take my photos during the day, preferably in the morning. The last photo I posted made the yellows look green. Oh well live and learn 🙂

On To The Next Challenge

Image

My best friend’s daughter is turning one at the end of the week, and I will be making her a hat.  I have also decided to make headgear for the rest of the family.  They will be the colors of our alma mater, the University of Idaho (it is also homecoming week), silver and gold.  I have decided to used Sheep(ish) yarn in Grey(ish) and Yellow(ish).  I am going to make a headband for my friend, a striped beanie for her husband , a hat with a big flower for the birthday girl, a hat with a pompom for their son.  All this in the next week! Ooof!  I am excited though and of course I will post pictures along the way 🙂

What are you working on out there?  Comment with a link so I can check it out 🙂
